Dan Miller’s initial love of Western American Art began in Northeastern Oklahoma where he was born in 1950. His grandfather of Cherokee descent, taught him as an early age that art should be a part of everday life. In his many trips to the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Dan knew that wildlife, indians and cowboy life would be his subject matter. In his later career, Dan has had success in non-objective acrylic painting.
Dan’s unique use of pastels strongly portrays the dignity and strength of character of American Indians and cowboy life. His portraits have earned him inclusion in many private and corporate collections across North America and Europe.
The outskirts of Mesa, Arizona is now the location of Dan’s studio. He has resided in Arizona since 1965.
